Hello friend
Found this southern leopard frog while doing some garden clean up today. I don't think he appreciated being disturbed lol

It seems like it shouldn't but Google Maps seems insistent lol
It's my first year dealing with this disaster. I'm out here every night with a headlight and garden scissors. These are invasive slugs that no one eats around here.
After picking around 4kg of these gigantic slugs in one night I no longer bother - too much trouble disposing of half a bucket of dead bodies. Now I'm just chopping them up...
I used to eat these berries right here (who washes alpine strawberries anyway?) but after seeing this slime party I just cannot enjoy them any more 🤢
EDIT: these are invasive species in most of Europe; Arion vulgaris (Spanish slugs). They do not have natural predators here.
A few years ago we converted our side yard into a "Piedmont prairie". This year has really been testing it to its limits. We haven't had any real rainfall since early June and I haven't been doing any supplemental watering (though I think I'm going to break down this weekend and give them some soaker hose time). The bees using the mountain mint as beds is so cute to me🥺
I don't know if our calico gal approves 🤣🤣
Three years ago we hired a local landscaping company to install a native prairie in our side yard instead of the zoysia grass that was there.
Even with the bad drought we've had the past few weeks the prairie is looking great this season! The company came by a couple weeks ago for their quarterly check-in and they were really pleased with how established things are looking.
I had wanted to do something like this in our yard for years now but with my work schedule it was hard to do more than just a few patches of yard conversion on my own. I'm really happy we finally decided to hire a company to do it for us because I don't think we would've gotten as good of results solo!
I've been eyeing these for awhile and now they're on sale. I could see them either being delicious or terrible lol.
Was it campy and silly? Yes. Was it the same as the anime? No and I don't care. The show reminded me of the campy shit that used to be made in the 90s, like Brisco County Jr., and that's what I liked about it.
People need to not expect remakes to be a carbon copy of the original. WTF would even be the point of a remake then? Just watch the original!
I've had this one in my garden for about five years now. I regularly have people asking me what it is when it's blooming🐝
