Baby not sucking on breast
Baby (2.5 months) is not sucking on the breast anymore and that has caused my milk supply to reduce drastically. Baby had lost a lot of weight when he was 1 week old due to jaundice and we had to introduce formula to supplement his nutritional needs....I would breast feed the majority of the time and give formula in between whenever possible...since the last month baby has had symptoms of fever , congestion, cold and stuffy/ runny nose which had caused him to not be able to feed through the breast as he would get exhausted from sucking due to his nose. This was followed by his vaccination where he had gotten injections on both arms and one leg caused him to be extremely fussy and he refused to be touched ...I had to bottle feed him majorly in that scenario too ..now the baby has developed a preference for the bottle ( fast flow and nipple shape) . I have tried switching him back to the breast but he gets fussy and impatient and refuses it completely and I have to give him the bottle in the end .
Will an electric breast pump be able to help me in this scenario? I have the pigeon manual pump but using it is exhausting as it's time taking and my hand starts hurting with it . I have tried lactogenic granules , fennel and Fenugreek seeds , maintained a balanced diet but still the milk supply is not enough... Please suggest what I can do in this situation so that I am able to breastfeed my son and his needs are met.
