Skagefla Help Needed!

Hello! I am headed to Norway in July and will be staying in Alesund for a few days. I'd really like to go to Geiranger and do the Skagefla hike but am having trouble figuring out logistics.

Public Transportation: Seems like the best option until you start worrying about not making it back in time to catch public transport back to Alesund and then being stuck!

Rental Car: I don't really want to rent a car because I know I will need to load it onto a ferry still and that whole process freaks me out (I've never done it).

Is the hike worth the headache or should I opt for tour? I'm doing a kayak tour out of Bergen days earlier so not sure if another kayak tour would hit the same. Maybe boat tour? Unsure.

If anyone has thoughts on what I should do please let me know!

Hello everyone! I live in Boston and will be between jobs this summer so want to travel to Norway solo in July. I have an itinerary planned out (below) but want input from anyone and everyone before I book in case anything stands out as unrealistic/unreasonable. In regards to hikes, I am quite fit and have done major hikes at national parks in the US which I thoroughly enjoy doing.

Day 1 (Oslo): Fly into Oslo

Day 2 (Oslo): Explore Oslo

Day 3 (Oslo to Bergen): Fly/train to Bergen, explore the city, rest

Day 4 (Bergen): Hike one of the fjords (recommendations welcome)

Day 5 (Bergen): Hike another fjord (recommendations welcome)

Day 7 (Bergen to Alesund): Fly to Alesund, explore the city, rest

Day 8 (Alesund): Take bus and ferry to Geirangerfjord (really want to hike Skagefla)

Day 9 (Alesund): Hike/ferry/kayak another fjord / Geirangerfjord (recommendations welcome)

Day 10: Back to Boston!

I wanted to go to Lofoten but it got too pricey with a flight from Bergen to Evenes, and getting a rental car, so have cut it out.

Thank you all! Let me know thoughts.
