Our spring break itinerary was just cancelled…

We were originally supposed to go on Allure next spring break, but just received an email last night that the itinerary was canceled due to the ship being chartered (I didn’t know that was a thing). Harmony js available that same week, but we already have that one booked for next fall so really our only options for that same week are Icon-class ships. Our kids will be 4 and 5 and I know a lot of people have told us to avoid Icon ships for a few years until our kids are old enough to enjoy everything, but we don’t really have many other options at this point. So, is there enough for small kids to enjoy, or is it really a waste of money? We could do either Icon or Star.

First time MSC Cruisers - what ships do you recommend?

We have only done DCL and Royal so far, and we will be traveling with our 4 and 5 year old. We had a Royal cruise booked for spring break next year and just received an email that the sailing was canceled due to the ship being chartered (didn’t even know that was a thing 🤷🏻‍♀️). None of the other Royal ships for that same week are of interest to us and Disney sailings were crazy expensive, so we are going to give a different cruise line a try. It seems like MSC has a lot of ships, so I don’t even know where to start to be honest. We’d prefer a newer (or at least recently updated ship) and would be traveling out of FL (we don’t have a preference on the port).
