Is it normal for a PRS bridge stud to tarnish this quickly?

Hi everyone,

About three weeks ago, I bought my first PRS guitar, a PRS S2 Mira 594. I absolutely love it. The tone, playability, intonation, and overall feel are all amazing, and I couldn't be happier with it.

Yesterday, I noticed something strange for the first time. The upper (or left?) bridge stud has become almost completely dark. I assume it's some kind of oxidation or tarnishing. I've had guitars develop rust before, but that usually took years. This guitar is only three weeks old. These marks definitely weren't there when I bought it. I still have photos I took on the day I bought it.

Does anyone know what could have caused this? What puzzles me is that only the upper stud has tarnished, while the lower one still looks brand new. My picking hand usually rests on the bridge, so I know that area gets exposed to sweat, but can this much discoloration really happen in just three weeks?

I'm mainly wondering whether this is something I caused as a user, or if it's considered completely normal.

S2 Mira 594 Neck Pickup Orientation: Cosmetic or Tonal Difference?

Hi everyone,

I'm planning to buy either an S2 McCarty 594 Thinline or an S2 Mira 594 this summer. While watching videos and looking at photos, I noticed something that caught my attention.

On the Mira, the neck pickup is oriented the same way as the bridge pickup (similar to the Gibson Greeny setup!). On the McCarty 594 and every other guitar I've seen with 58/15 LT pickups, the neck pickup is mounted in the opposite, more traditional orientation that we're all used to.

My question is: is this purely an aesthetic choice, or does it have any effect on the tone?

Spark 2 Hendrix Presets Not Working Until Connected via Bluetooth

Hello, I own the Spark 2 and Hendrix packages. In 3 of my 8 banks, I have amps and pedals from the Hendrix package. However, they do not work when I start up the Spark 2. Changing channels does not help either.

Interestingly, if I connect to the amp via Bluetooth and change the patch, those tones start working. So basically, I can never use my Hendrix package presets without my phone and internet connection. There is no issue with my other 5 presets. What do you think could be causing this? My Spark 2 firmware is fully up to date.
