Revolution Mining

Has anyone been able to get in contact with anyone from Revolution Mining in the last week or so? I'm emailed their support team and also called them (and left a message with their AI system) to get my miners shipped back to me but no response so far. It's been over a week since I first reached out to them.

deployable aftermarket side steps for '23-'26 RRS

Hello everyone

TL;DR Has anyone found a deployable side step brand that is compatible with the current RRS generation?

I currently have a '24 RRS and may trade it in for a custom '27. I was able to order fixed side steps for my '24 but that seems to no longer be an option. Only the deployable side steps are available, presumably because they want to continue their sleek design concept. But I don't want to pay $5k for deployable side steps.

In my area I called one shop so far and they said they can't find any compatible deployable side steps available from their suppliers. They did find Romik brand stationary side steps that would work for $1750 out the door. I could do those if necessary but I figured if I'll be saving some money anyway by doing after market then maybe I'll splurge on the deployable steps.

I asked if I could find a deployable brand that is marketed as compatible would they install them and they said yes.

ineffective wipers with '24 RRS

Has anyone else experienced the ineffective wipers with the new RR and RRS starting with the redesign in '23 by moving the fluid sprayers to be on the wiper arm? They only spray when the wipers are at the end of their first stroke (vertical). More than half of the fluid is pushed off the driver side and the little bit remaining is used for the rest of the windshield. Effectively none of it ever touches the right 1/3 of the windshield for the passenger. This results in any and all bugs being smeared across the windshield rather than being cleaned off. The faster you're driving the worst this is because the wipers move faster with higher speed which means more fluid is pushed off at higher speed before it has time to loosen bugs and prevent smearing.

Local dealer is trying to convince me to trade in but I just test drove a '26 RRS yesterday and can confirm they haven't done anything to fix the above behavior. Salesman says that ceramic coating on the windshield could help somewhat. I did a bit of research which suggests that any bugs that are on the windshield may get cleand off easier with the coating but the coating can also mean even less fluid stays on the windshield because it would bead off.

Any thoughts?

single drone, flag ceremony and gun salute

Hi folks,

I've been commissioned to do a drone flight for a 21 gun salute and flag ceremony for a veteran who passed recently. I have a single drone. The person paying has left it up to me mostly for what I capture and how I do it because he doesn't know enough to make recommendations.

I'd assume being stationary with the drone at whatever position and altitude I choose would be bad cinematography. I thinking of moving around with the drone in cinema mode to get different shots and zoom levels however this is a one time thing and these 2 things will only take about 5 min altogether with the gun salute maybe only being 30-60 seconds so I can't afford to make mistakes nor can I move around that much anyway unless I'm still looking at the action while moving (simple panning).

In post then I'd be taking the best parts of my shots to pull them together just like we normally do. So the parts where I'm changing angles and positions and such would of course be ripped out but if I need to turn away from the action for a few seconds to get a different position then I won't be capturing every second of it.

Does anyone think though that the guy who commissioned me might actually want to see every second of the flag ceremony and all of the salute? If I'm moving around to change angles and such I won't always be able to stay focused on the action but with a single drone the only other option is to stay relatively stationary and only zoom in and out and do simple pans.

I do plan to bring my DJI Action 6 to put on a tripod to get some some audio to pair with the drone video recording. I may also use some video content from the Action 6 in my final video.

Thoughts? Suggestions?
