As promised from my other post, here are the finished pictures of the satin clear PPF on the Borasco Gray paint. The pictures can’t do it justice honestly. Perfection!

Vacuum pump leak or else?

2013 L405 with the 5.0 SC engine, 86k miles. Just bought it, after doing an oil change with 0w20 liqui moly i saw this rusty or red coloured leak underneath the metal shield. upon taking it off im not sure what im seeing. It looks like a coolant leak but its extremely oily when you touch it, 0 smell of coolant or oil, its quite odorless actually. I was thinking the notorious vacuum pump leak but I can’t for the life of me understand what this copper grease looking stuff is. Is it someones attempt to stop the leak from the vacuum pump or is the leak something completely different? Wonder if any of you mechanics seen this before or can guess what it is. Thanks

Leasing 2026 P360 vs. P400 Dynamic RRS

Hey everyone! First time Range Rover user here. I went to the dealership the other day to look at different trim levels and like my title suggests, I’m choosing between the P360 and P400 Dynamic. Does anyone have any strong thoughts between these two trim levels? Is it really that big of a difference? It’s an extra 15-25k for the 400 Dynamic so wondering if that’s worth it or whether I should stick to the P360 and get all the various options? Any help would be appreciated!

100k milestone 🇺🇸 2020 RRS

Bought this car brand new during the pandemic. Just routine maintenance, and one coolant line repair that was covered under warranty, it’s been my favorite ride. Fingers crossed for 100k more.

Road to Shasta & Lassen

SF-> Shasta + Lassen -> Chico -> SF

Amazing views and great roads, wish Lake Helen was frozen but it was still gorgeous.

22mpg was fairly easy at 75mph (SC v8 5.0) - this was a pleasant surprise.

Dynamic mode RR Sport (so good)

I drive more and more in dynamic mode, there is very little loss in comfort, but the instant power is gained and the sound of the engine is unreal, and also the layout of the screen in dynamic mode is so good.

Question to RR owners

I’m a long time JLR products fan, unfortunately not wealthy enough for their vehicles.. so admiring them passing 😬
just wondering about people owning these vehicles:

What does RR have that others don’t? What’s a feature that RR does really well compared to others? What makes you go back?

Thank you for the answers and hope the post doesn’t break any rules

2010 Range Rover Sport 5.0 Loud Whine / Squeal On Startup

Hi I have owned this 2010 Range Rover Sport HSE 5.0 N/A for a while now and just recently had the following work done at the same time:

Transmission fluid service with a new upgraded Lucky8 transmission pan/filter
Engine oil and filter change (Castrol Edge Professional 0W-20)
Rear crossover coolant flange pipe replaced

Immediately after the service, I noticed a loud whine/squeal on startup. It’s loudest and lasts the longest on a completely cold start (about 2–3 seconds). Once the engine is warm, I may still hear it occasionally on a startup but only for about half a second before it disappears. Sound seems to be coming from front left engine area.

The mechanic has checked everything over and says everything looks good, but they haven’t been able to identify the source of the noise.

Has anyone with the 5.0 AJ133 engine experienced something similar after an oil change, transmission service, or rear crossover pipe replacement? Any ideas what I should have checked next?

I've attached a video of a cold start, where the noise can be heard clearly. Thanks!

Instrument cluster went black

So, driving my 2016 LWB 5.0SC on a road trip today. Cruising along on the highway and the instrument cluster goes black. No other symptom shows up: continued to cruise along with radio playing just fine. Probably about 5 seconds passed then it powered up again. No warnings/errors popped up.

I have a bluetooth battery monitor so I checked that out also while driving, right after the instrument cluster came back on; all looked good, charged 100%, 13.9V while cruising. Looked at voltage graph and there was nothing abnormal; the time series voltage graph was nice flat line at 13.9V.

Any thoughts?

Fixed or deployable running boards?

Considering installing aftermarket fixed (about $400) or deployable running boards(about $1000) for my 2026 RRS. Am somewhat leaning towards fixed, as I've heard there may be some warranty issues with deployable as they need to be plugged into the RRS control module. Also somewhat concerned about lifespan with deployable, although do appreciate the flush appearance. Anyone installed either one and pleased with the result?

Considering buying a 2017 Evoque Sport 112k miles. Advice!

Found a 2017 Evoque SE Premium Sport Utility 4D on Marketplace with all black matte wrap and black alloy wheel. Been a dream car of sorts for me for a bit now with that specific look.

112k miles. Clean title. No service lights on the dash. Private seller is asking 9k, I’ve talked him down to 8k. Trying to get closer to 7k.

I of course wouldn’t purchase before getting a PPI and running the VIN but assuming all comes back clear…is this a good deal and for the experts, is this a good car for more or less staying local as an every day vehicle? What questions do I need to ask or concerns to look out for with this model?

Thanks!

Replacing my 23 Escalade and thinking about Range Rover

Never owned a Range Rover. Thinking of getting one after my Escalade.

Please tell me who has experience with them.

Is it worth getting 8 cylinders or 6 will suffice?
