Our anemic offense is seriously concerning watching Buffalo light up the Habs

There wasn’t one damn game we didn’t score more than 3 games, ONE! When we arguably have one of the best top 6’s in the league.

Was Dobes a brick wall in many of our games, yes? But was it really our players not being able to finish and put the puck into the back of the net? Seems like it.

I’m hoping JBB makes some noticeable changes during the draft this year like he did when he traded Sergachev. Something’s gotta give man.

Everyone is an "expert" on DRAM and memory now

Everybody is so confident on memory continuing to rise, hundreds of comments parroting the same exact points.

"Memory will go up and to the right until 2028"
"It's still cheap"
"I'm an expert in the field and know this is just the beginning"
"This is just like Nvidia in 2020"

You have people allocating 50% of their accounts into memory manufacturers with acting as if it's a guarantee it's a fool proof investment until 2028. If everybody is so confident a stock is going to go up then who are they going to buy their shares from?

This looks like a classic bubble that will end badly. Will everybody run for the exits when 2028 hits? What happens when big tech cuts capex? Maybe we enter a 6% inflation environment because the price of oil continues to go up and the fed raises rates.

Too many people shrugging off any sort of downside, not a great sign.

Playing with the roster

Decided to make some big changes during the off-season, not that any of these are realistic, but if we were to make some big moves this is what I would like to see.

  • Letting Detroit talk to Raddysh early they trade us a draft pick before Raddysh is officially a free agent. I think what he's demanding is going to be too high and I think this season was a bit of a fluke. His play style didn't translate over well into the playoffs either.
  • Move off of Nick Paul, he has a modified 16 team NTC that kicks in so we can find a spot for him to move off of that contract, not sure if Nashville is on that list, but Stammer is there so maybe it's somewhere he'd want to go.
  • Now for the big one, moving Point to jersey for Hischier. Maybe the 2 players need a change of scenery. Point would slot in pretty well in Jersey on their 1st or 2nd line. Sweetened the trade with a prospect and draft pick from Nick Paul since Point is older and has the more expensive contract. Hischier is also a free agent soon, there's a possibility he's looking to sign somewhere else anyway so let's snatch him while we can.
  • Sent JoJo down to the minors and signed Georgiev. Vasy and him should get along well as they're both Russian, would be a nice duo to have. I think he'd be a massive upgrade over JoJo, and he actually had some pretty decent numbers in the KHL this season. I think it's worth giving him and shot because it can't get any worse than JoJo (no offense)
  • We let Bjorkstrand walk, it just isn't working for him here. Unless we can sign him for an insanely cheap amount (like $2 mil) I don't see us keeping him.
  • Since we traded Point, Paul, and let Bjork walk, we have loads of cap space. We sign Alex Tuch during the off-season for $8.5 million and slot him on the 2nd line. This gives Cirelli two extremely good goal scorers on his wings that he'd pair well with.
  • Last we sign Rasmus Andersson to a $9 million contract since he's a UFA this season. We pair him with Hedman and you get an all Swede 1st pairing.

Overall do I think any of this is realistic? Nope. This is what I think needs to be done though if they actually want to start making big changes. I think Hischier would pair extremely well with Kuch they're both extremely smooth. Kuch's frustrations recently have likely been Point not being able to score with him. Whether that's Kuch's fault or not remains to be seen, but I don't think it is.

I also think our 3rd line would almost be like the triplets 2.0. Extremely fast, young, driven, they would be the core of our group giving them that adrenaline shot when needed. Our 4th line would continue to be the defensive grinders that shut guys down just like they did this past season. If Kuch shows that he can't perform in the playoffs again next season I think that's when they need to decide it's time to move on. I actually think JBB should keep him unsigned to signal that he needs to prove it in the playoffs, not just the regular season.
