Went BOTG today...
We had a pleasant stay. It was warm and a tiny bit humid. Checked off all the items on my list and there did not seem to be anything there - Who would have figured!
Clues to lion's share in Part Two of the book?
The instructions state that the puzzles in part two lead to individual boxes HOWEVER the overall instructions state that there could be clues anywhere in the book. Could some of the things folks are focusing in for part two only relate to part one?
From Page 63..."I can imagine a day in the not-so-distant future when many opinions may exist about where I have hidden our treasure. There may be online forums, chat rooms, or YouTube videos on the topic....
...If enough time goes by, countless ideas and speculation about our treasures might be catalogued (sic). AI will probably even share a perspective or three. Depending on when you are reading this book, some of these things may already exist. If I were to offer any piece of advice on this topic, I'd say that instead of listening to the opinions of others, value your own. Have faith. This will make a difference."
How much does each box weigh?
There are some things that obviously would not fit in the box (Page of Thoreau's manuscript for example) but given the boxes are metal and that gold and moon rocks are heavy, what is your estimate of the weights of these boxes?
Should we add in any box/enclosure that JCB may have used to help protect them in the wild?
Should we bring something to put it in when we find it?
Is anybody trying to figure out the "Lion's Share" box?
Seems like most folks are concentrating on the four smaller boxes. Is there a reason for that?
This would be a great place to hide a box.
Unfortunately nothing could be found in any of the nooks or crannies.
From garden into the kitchen...
Nectarines and Blueberries....Green Beans and refrigerator Pickles. (bananas for scale)
Over Under and In Between?
"Five Way Crossing at Three & Twenty Creek" is a famous historical photograph captured in 1938 by the prolific South Carolina photographer Lewis Moorhead. The image features an unusual, overlapping rural geographic crossing at Three & Twenty Creek in Anderson County, South Carolina.
In 1938, the unique photograph gained national fame when it was published by Robert Ripley's famous "Believe It or Not"
We know Fenn (allegedly) put his cache in Yellowstone. JCB has excluded YNP from his treasure.
Isn't it true that National Parks prohibit hiding treasures and geocaching? Should we naturally (heheh) exclude National Parks from our search?
- Great Smoky Mountains National Park (Tennessee/North Carolina)
- Shenandoah National Park (Virginia)
- Harpers Ferry National Historical Park (West Virginia)
- Chesapeake & Ohio Canal National Historical Park (Maryland)
- Blue Ridge Parkway (Virginia)
- Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area (New Jersey/Pennsylvania)
This would exclude a huge amount of the AT from solution. Thoughts?
