Red v.s Blue Reframed (please read)
Red button:
You do not run in front of the train track you and are guaranteed to live.
Blue button:
You are tied to the train tracks (along with everyone else that pushed blue), yet the train coming toward you all will only stop if at least 50% of the people that were voting also chose to be tied to the train tracks.
If you reframe the question in the Red v.s blue button debate to be in the context of a train track, it’s the exact same scenario essentially.
It is extremely unlikely that at least 50% would actually gamble their lives and tie themselves to the train tracks if this were real, so red is the better option in the original red v.s blue debate too.
