This is my favorite Jellycat. I love the size, weight, and how goofy he is. I picked him up on vacation, and have enjoyed seeing how people style him. I have never considered the pebble until I saw pictures of them together. 😆🤣
I went on a vacation in July to VA with my friend, and she collects little food Jellycats. I started watching Jellycat videos on IG, and was influenced to find a store on our trip. She picked out the little cake in slide 2, and I picked the skating sun! I named him William my Son/Sun from Williamsburg. 😆
I quickly bought several more after this. 😆
I just got Claudie during the Berry event for my birthday, and I had to bring her to the library (one of her favorite places). 😍 She decided to check out a book to get to know the girl soon to arrive that everyone has been talking about. Unfortunately, the book is as big as she is!
Earlier this year, I posted about wanting to take my dolls in public for pictures and to add to their doll world. I loved seeing pictures of people's dolls outside their homes, and wanted to do so. I posted my first pictures here of taking Jess to my local museum during a lunch hour when no one was around, and Kaya at a cookbook display at my library.
Since then, I've now traveled on vacation and taken so many pictures of dolls. Here is what I've learned about myself.
I like to take photos while on vacation or in a town where I won't run into people who know me. For the most part, I don't care if people see me pull out my doll or take pictures while on vacation.
It is so nice to plan a doll centric vacation or day trip around other doll people. I went to the doll event in Colonial Williamsburg, and didn't feel weird or shy about taking out my dolls for photos because I was surrounded by lots of other adults doing the same.
Having a doll friend/s makes it so much more fun! I went to dinner with a table of other ladies, and we all had our dolls. Our server did ask, "What is the deal with the dolls?" We laughed and answered.
I am more comfortable carrying a doll in a tote where they can be hidden discreetly when I do not have them out.
I have been open about my love of dolls, and talk about it with enthusiasm with people I feel would not be judgmental. I have found that people LOVE it. It makes me more excited to share and take photos.
PS so far the people who have approached me to ask me about them have loved AG themselves, or in one instance, was a dad who made him happy to see them because his daughter loved them growing up.
I would love to hear from you all, and see your photos!
It's my birthday today, so it's also my mini me's birthday! I love this dress on her!
Took Francine and Emily on vacation! We had tea, but mini Felicity said no thank you.
I love my TM 116 and my sweet Rapunzel! I was initially a Marie Grace face mold hater, and now I love it! Do you have a face mold you changed your mind about?
Sarah enters the labyrinth to save her baby brother from the Goblin King.
Sarah practices lines from her favorite story until she remembers she promised to babysit her baby brother Toby. Now, she is very late!
Yesterday was the 40th anniversary of the release of my favorite movie- Jim Henson's Labyrinth! I took my Sarah and Merlin out today for a photoshoot!
I have never in my adult life taken a doll to see a movie, but I LOVE Toy Story. I have enjoyed seeing all the pictures of other people take their dolls to see this, so I took my 90s mini me! I loved the movie and shed a couple of tears.
I went to an antique store that sells these homemade 18" doll clothes. I picked 3 outfits up for my GoT 8 Francine! The last two, she will wear at Colonial Williamsburg to cosplay as Felicity. I love this green dress on her! All outfits were $12-$13!
Logan and his pup Cash enjoying some music before bed. He winds down by watching YouTube videos of Grand Ole Opry performances, and by snacking on the Doritos he snuck into his room.
I got this Emily for $8.99 this weekend. She was very dirty, had loose legs, and dirty messy hair. I spent a few hours restoring her yesterday, and I found a dress in similar colors to her meet dress. I love her!
I sent my second hand TM 58 Bonnie Joy in for a new head. I originally got her from Marketplace for $40, and I tried to fix her up. However, that hair was too far gone. I used my points to make her $55 cheaper.
I sent her May 8th and she arrived today.
Hello, doll friends! My boyfriend and I are planning a trip this summer to Nashville for my birthday. This is mainly because I want to visit the American Girl Store! I have only walked through the old Atlanta and Charlotte ones before they closed, but never did anything or shopped there.
Has anyone celebrated their adult birthdays there? How was it? Should I do a meal in the cafe? I want to take a doll and get their hair done at the salon. Do I need to book this prior?
I would love to hear about experiences at the Nashville store, and other fun things to do in Nashville. I am not a drinker, so the bar scene isn't really my thing. We do want to visit the Country Music Hall of Fame. I like indie bookstores, museums, and outdoorsy things, though a summer trip in Nashville, I may want to be inside as much as possible.
Thank you!
I went thinking I wouldn't find anything AG, but I did! I also got mini dolls for my dolls, a Disney Animators Snow White, and the Sugar Plum Fairy Barbie I was looking for.
I decided to create my childhood mini me, and I thrifted a bunch of things that I had or reminded me of my childhood for my girl Michelle. 😊 Her desk reminds me of the one I had growing up, before a large computer took a lot of the space. I just ordered her several handmade outfit pieces and a mini AG Bear, as I owned Miss AG Bear as a kid. I have no idea what happened to her, though.
I would like the 90s AG desk, but I thrifted this one for $12!
The thrifting gods smiled upon me today. Maryellen's airstream, AG books (I also got 2 others), an AG catalog, and a doll couch! The couch is not AG, but beautiful and was only $20!
