I picked up a Midtown Custom for a pretty good price this week and noticed the lacquer on the neck looks like it’s flaking off. This is only my second nitro finish guitar, the other one is a new SG so obviously I haven’t gotten to that point of wear with it yet.

I always assumed nitro just sort of fades rather than flakes off though. Is this normal? I don’t feel any edges of the paint like it’s peeling, but it looks like that. No other areas of the guitar have this issue. Love the guitar otherwise and it doesn’t really bother me, but was a bit confused by this.
