I've been seeing a lot of V supporters on twitter saying that the CN government cleared V+Infold.

But if that were the case, why would they still be on a (supposed) media ban ?

The way I see it, there are 4 situations that could exist, based on the arguments of V supporters, that all seem to contradict each other. Only by admitting at least on of their argument is false can I find a situation that's not contradicting itself.

First, let's list their alledged arguments that are relevant in this situation:

- The CN government cleared V+ Infold, and are urging them to listen to "global players and release V" in an article

- They're on a media ban

-A data-miner showed proof that V was still in the game (illegal btw)

-The reason the game has so many bugs is because V was only hidden, but still in the game, causing it to be unstable

-The "antis" are a loud minority, and the majority (even in CN) want Valko back

-Most, if not all big spenders want V back

-Infold will bring V back

And now, here are the situations that would explain why Infold is silent, based on these arguments:

1) The CN government DID clear V+ Infold and the reason they're not speaking is bc they're on a media ban

--> If the CN government cleared them, wouldn't that also imply that they would retract the media ban, since it would be standing on null terms ? (ie Infold and V did nothing wrong ?) Also, if they are urging them to release V, they would absolve the media ban, so that he can be released, no ?

2) The CN government DID clear V+Infold and the reason they're not speaking is bc they're trying to arrange the behind the scenes to welcome V

The V supporters have alledged that a data-miner showed proof that V was still in the game(very illegal btw), and was causing the bugs, since they had to temporarily hide him.

--> If that is the case, wouldn't it be actually quite easy to retrieve him ? Since he actually IS in the game, and him being alledgedly hidden is SO detrimental to the game ?

3) The CN government DID clear V+ Infold and the reason they're not speaking is bc they're waiting for the "antis's" protest to calm down to release him

The V supporters have alledged that the "antis" were actually only a loud minority, and that MILLIONS of CN players were all in for V, and that most if not ALL the big spenders were for V to be back

--> If the majority of players ARE actually for V to be brought back, wouldn't they actually be able to overpower the "antis" protest? And also, since Infold would have no reason to be scared of losing revenue (since, as the V supporters claim, every big spender is for V) why wait, since they've been cleared and thus let free of their alledged media ban ?

And finally, the situation in which you have to admit that one of their argument is wrong:

4) The CN government DIDN'T clear V+ Infold and the reason they're not speaking is bc they're on a media ban

--> If so, this implies that Infold has no benefit to releasing V, bc no fandom argument can be bigger than the CN's government opinion

The only situation that doesn't seem to contradict itself is the one were they're not talking bc they're on a media ban bc they have NOT been cleared by the CN government (contradicting argument n°1)

The other situations can be true, but only if you admit that one of the arguments used above are false

Sit1:For the media ban to be true, you would need to admit that they weren't cleared

Sit2: Either he's not in the game, or he's not the one causing the bugs (every big patch update has been filled with bugs, even before V), or they're not planning to bring him back, thus, even if he's in game, this is of no importance

Sit3: the "antis" are actually the majority and/or the big spenders are all/mostly against V

I don't want to bother/hurt the V supporters by going on THEIR sub to talk about something that they obviously find annoying/hurtful/disagree with (thus I also don't think I would have truthful opinions).

So, while I know that I might be asking this to ppl already agreeing with me, I'm genuinely asking if there's anything wrong, any fallacies in what I wrote. I genuinely want the people who might disagree with me to (respectfully) explain what I'm missing, and where I'm wrong, please !🤗

I always found it weird how some players were shocked that a chinese company would cater towards a chinese audiance over their "global" (i.e. not chinese) audience.

Because, growing up in France, most of our tv shows were imported from different countries (mostly the US and Japan), because our media production power wasn't as strong as these countries

Fun fact! France is the 2nd country that consumes the most manga, right behind Japan itself (source: https://www.lepoint.fr/culture/comment-la-france-est-devenue-la-seconde-patrie-du-manga-02-06-2024-2561747_3.php )

And! Fairy Tail was actually so popular in France that Fairy tail:100 year quest was actually broadcasted in France BEFORE it was broadcasted in Japan! (source: https://gaak.fr/fairy-tail-100-years-quest-debarque-au-cinema-en-france/ first 3 episodes of 100 years quest were broadcasted in french cinema from june 22 to 23, whereas Japan could only watch on July 7th)

So I always grew up with the understanding that all media wasn't always going to cater to me, and I would actually be shocked whenever it did (like with FT 100 years quest being broadcasted in France before Japan)

And I think most Americans don't really relate to that, because they could go their entire life without having to interact with a piece of media made outside of the US, because their media production power is THAT strong. The fact that they have a neighborhood known the its media production (HOLLYWOOD) is crazy, and not common in other countries !

But now, with globalization and social media, it makes it easier for Americans to be presented with foreign media without actively looking for it, and thus, I think most of them didn't grow up understanding that other countries would favor their base audience (as in their OWN countries) more than America, because they were always used to being catered to, so they expect that all the time, regardless of which country is making the media

I think that could explain why for them it was so surprising that a chinese company would cater to their chinese audience more than their american one, whereas it didn't shock me because I was used to that, and understood that fact from when I was younger.

That's not to say that no American ever interacted with foreign media, but more to say that they HAD to go out of their way to do so, whereas, as a french person, it was natural, and always presented to me (again most tv shows on french TV are american shows with French dub, even Hallmark movies, or Japanese shows with French dub)

Which also explains why Witch Hat Atelier's success in France seems more ingrained in France itself rather than being something niche: we're used to popular media being from outside of France, and as a country with a huge love for comics, I think it was only natural that Witch Hat Atelier receives that much love in France !

I also think that partly explains why approximately 54% of Europeans are bilinguals, whereas only 20% of US citizens are bilingual (bc they don't really NEED to be) (source with the sentence highlighted: https://www.kent.edu/mcls/translation-ma/blog/language-learning-trends-and-statistics#:~:text=Meanwhile%2C%20in%20the%20U.S.%2C%20only,26%25%20and%2054%25%2C%20respectively )

Edit 2: I decided to add a bit more of context to my post, so I copied and pasted here a reply I made to a comment:

A french show might have inspiration to grow internationally, but at the end of the day, they need to be popular, and thus appeal to their country if they want a chance to grow big enough to be internationally marketable.

I think that an american audience might be less acquainted with the intricacies that dictate how a company must act to be popular enough to reach the US, and thus be internationally marketable, because an american company only has to appeal to its home country to be internationally popular, because the US has a huge soft power, and people from all around the world have their sight on the US by default to try and consume their media:

In regards to the law of demand and supply, the US has a demand for their media that is bigger than their country's population, because of their soft power, thus simply by releasing things that are appealing to americans and americans only, they can still get people from outside the US hooked in (e.g. Euphoria was a very popular series all around the world, but I fail to see how it caters to any other demographic than the US, not saying that it's bad, it's simply an observation)

Whereas other countries need to appeal to their home countries, to then be popular enough to try and market their product to the US to be called internationally popular.

In this case, in regards to the law of demand and supply, the other countries have to keep in mind that the demand for their media might be smaller than their country's population (because a part of their country's population is only interested in american, or other country's media), and thus their first course of action has to be to appeal to their home country, to have enough standing power to try and appeal to an international audience.

This proves to be particularly demanding, because when's the last time you heard of a popular french tv show/ film/ trend/ fashion ?

Because America is in this very standalone position where its soft power is so strong that dictates what's popular even outside the US by default (films, music, fashion, trends), my understanding was that its inhabitants might not realise how difficult it is for other countries to work through this situation.

China, while a big country, doesn't have the same soft power that the US has, thus abandoning their country's playerbase in favor of the US playerbase might not play well, because they have no certainty that

1. they will even succeed and have a stable place in the US market
2. that even if a stable place is found, they have no certainty that their reach will be big enough to make up for the hole left by their country's playerbase departure
