Cape Extreme Glee

Hit Cape Disappointment again today. Drove out last night, camped outside of Naselle. We were ON the jetty at 5:38 am. Had to use headlights to see our bobbers before the sun was fully up.
Buddy caught the rockfish then, 3/4oz swim JYG swimbait.
Managed to land 1 wild Chinook (who went back) and the two cohos.

One was a female which is awesome because I want to learn to cure eggs. Any advice on starting my own recipe would be wonderful if y’all have any.

I Love This State

Not to mention a few sharks, one tiny catfish.. currently chasing sturgeon tonight, steelhead/salmon tomorrow, then hitting bouy 10 next week.
We are truly lucky here. 2 hours in any direction and any species I want to fish for is at my finger tips.

PSP/ Red Tide Question

Went to Westport for the week. Did great on crab.

Coming back from the jetty one day I talked to a local who was grabbing Cockles from Halfmoon bay.

Tried to check the interactive map for red tide/biotoxins but it wouldn’t load, and the only alert I could see wasn’t for that area.

Went the next day and got a limit for my girl and I.

Stored some late night crab (live) in the cooler to come home WITH the clams.

First thing this morning I checked, of course the whole coast is closed so we’re chucking the clams.

My question is are the crab I stored in the same cooler safe??

I know crab don’t accumulate the biotoxin in their flesh but could there be some contamination?

Was thinking about calling Wdfw or a similar resource.
