EU261 advice
Need some opinions regarding a possible EU261 claim against Lufthansa, because this entire situation has been extremely chaotic.
My original itinerary was:
SVG → FRA → SIN. Booking done through Lufthansa’s website.
I only discovered that my SVG → Frankfurt flight had been cancelled because I called Lufthansa myself to ask what had happened after noticing the flight had disappeared from the app. I never received any SMS, email or phone notification about the cancellation itself.
Over the following days, Lufthansa put me through several different reroutings. The final rerouting before departure was onto KLM, and I have proof/screenshots showing the KLM itinerary as confirmed and on time in both apps/systems for days before departure.
Today, I still could not check in online, so I called Lufthansa multiple times to ask what was happening and requested that they place the booking into an emergency ticketing queue so I could still make the flight.
Lufthansa initially told me that they would emergency ticket the KLM routing and that I was good to go to the airport. Then 1,5hour later, they suddenly changed position and told me that the KLM routing would not work and that they instead had to place me onto partner airlines. No actual reason for why the KLM ticketing failed was given to me.
I then called KLM myself, and KLM told me there was nothing blocking the itinerary on their side and that the issue appeared to be within Lufthansa’s own ticketing system.
The final rerouting became:
SVG → BGO → MUC → SIN
As a result, I am now arriving approximately 24 hours later than my original scheduled arrival in Singapore.
Does this sound like a strong EU261 case to you guys, even though «cancellation» of my original flight happend over 2 weeks ago?
