I have an extremely affectionate 4mo pit mix with a calm temperment and who LOVES people. She is absolutely perfect and I've been doing obedience and leash training. One thing she has been doing a lot lately is barking at stranger's from afar on walks. It is not aggressive but more like a "who are you?" And if they get closer, she wants to go up to them and say hi, lick them and play with them. I try to catch it before it happens and praise her for looking calmly at someone but if not then I try to distract her by focusing on me and having good outdoor treats. Is this the right way to go about it? The other day she was barking at a kid as I'm trying to redirect her and I could tell she scared them which made me a bit sad
