H4 question

I am planning to switch to H4 but since this is my first time I am having few questions;

  1. If I apply now which is May 20th 2026 what’s the timeline for H4 approval?
  2. H4 receipt after applying my H1B stops immediately?
  3. If I find any employment who is ready to transfer my H1B then can I revoke my application? What’s the timeline if I filed separately?
    4.Can I keep working on my H1B until I get approval on H4 -EAD?
  4. Can I get my H4 and EAD together if I want to keep my work continue with other employer? (Can I keep working on H1B and apply for h4 and then once I get approval for EAD and H4 together then take a break and continue working for the same company?)
  5. I have only one year left what are my options to get I-140?

Any guidance or suggestions will be deeply appreciated. Thank you in advance for your time. I am little nervous because it is my first time.

NIW law firms

I am trying to see if I have a NIW case and if I do then I am trying to look for an affordable law firm.
I am having masters in construction management and I am working with lot of transit government agency projects in past like Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority, Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority, Bay Area Rapid Transit.
I did lot of repair and design work for them for Rail road construction and transit development, it is very sensitive work for government because we do lots of tech repairs, design platforms, risk analysis for public safety. I have strong letters of recommendations that can prove that.
I am trying to see if I can make a NIW case here? If yes then what law firm should I use or how much do they charge? Any advice or suggestions much appreciated.
Thank you!
