2025 Texas Football Best Plays Voting

It's that time again. Voting for the Top Plays of the 2025 season is now live, and this year we've changed how it works.

Vote here

How it works this year

Instead of a single ballot, all ~125 candidate plays are ranked using an ELO rating system built on head-to-head voting. You'll be shown two clips side by side and asked to pick the better one. As soon as you make a pick, a new pairing appears. That's the whole loop.

A few things to know before you start:

  • There is no finish line. The site will keep serving you new matchups indefinitely (there are over 7,000 possible pairings). You are not working toward a "you've completed voting" screen, because one doesn't exist (there is a thank you for participating window). Vote on as many or as few as you like, and come back whenever you want to keep going.
  • It's quick. You don't need to watch each clip in full to decide. Most matchups take about 10 seconds. Five minutes on the site usually gets you 20+ votes.
  • No login, fully anonymous. There's no account and no sign-in. Works on desktop and mobile.

Why we changed the format

The head-to-head approach gives us cleaner, more accurate data than the old method. It sidesteps Reddit's vote fuzzing (where the true point totals on comments get obscured), and because it rewards volume of comparisons rather than a quick drive-by vote, the results better reflect how the community actually ranks these plays.

Timeline

  • Voting stays open through August 8th, when the final order is locked in.
  • We'll reveal the countdown from #25 to #1, one play per day, starting August 11th, leading right up to kickoff against Texas State on September 5th.
  • As always, plays will be posted here on the subreddit and shared on Twitter, TikTok, and BlueSky.

Think we missed a play?

A small group of users flagged candidates throughout the entire 2025 season, but we may have missed something. If you think a play is missing from the pool, drop a comment and let us know.

Hook 'em.

[Post Game Thread] 🥎 #2 Texas staves off elimination and defeats #7 Tennessee 5-2, 4-0 to advance to the 2026 Women's College World Series Finals

Game 1 was marked by timely hitting for the ladies in the better shade of orange and dominant pitching from Citlaly Gutierrez despite a horrific game for the Longhorns defense.

Game 2 was another OKC pitching masterclass from Teagan Kavan with a side of deadly baserunning by the Horns as they best the Vols' ace, Karlyn Pickens.

Texas has won five games while facing elimination in the tournament. They face either Alabama or Texas Tech for the championship series beginning Wednesday, 6/3.

Alabama and Texas Tech play tonight at 6 PM CT. If Texas Tech wins, they'll play again about 30 minutes later to decide it (roughly 8:30 CT).
