The post with the guy in the yellow mac got me remembering being scared sh*tless by tv shows as a kid. What was this one:

Set in the Scottish isles ? A spaceship washes ashore There’s was an “alien” in it but it’s empty now The alien is roaming the island. Turns out it was a Russian submarine? The pilot was connected via some kind sort of brain interface?

So many fever dream references….

Clues welcome!!! I think it was a mini series and not a single episode in something like tales of the unexpected.
