So I am finally parting with my 02 mk4 Golf after 20 years of ownership.
It has a lot of issues, which I'll list below, but the general query is am I letting it go for far too little. My mechanic says he will take it for £250??
It's just out of MOT last month, but drove fine until then. So if I sold it it would have to be as parts/pick up off the drive I guess.
207k miles
Speedo & tacho not working (for 3-4 years, probably done ~210k miles)
All 4 tyres are worn and cracked
Both front wings has significant rust on the arches
Back left door doesn't open
Drivers door sometimes need key to open rather than fob
ABS & Traction control lights have both come on literally last month when I last drove it
Back tyres need pumping up every 1-2 weeks
Rear brake light housing cracked
I bought it in 2006 on 50k miles, so i've done 175k mostly motorway miles in those 20 years
2 new front Suspension arms last year
Front discs and pads last year
New radiator 200k
Had a new turbo about 150k
Services every year until post Covid
Is letting it go for £250 a terrible idea?? Can't imagine it is worth much more?
