Oil(?) beneath the kitchen window?
Hey Reddit! I moved into a house that the previous tenants completely trashed and I’ve been slowly but surely tackling the major cleaning projects since March but this one has me a little intimidated since it’s outside.
This is our kitchen window facing the backyard— I think the mess on the brick and ground is just spent cooking oil but it looks nasty and makes me not want to spend time in the backyard. My plan as of right now is Dawn, a garden hose, and a prayer, but I thought you lovely folks might have a better idea of what to do.
TL;DR: I have a big greasy spot on the ground and brick outside, what should I do?
EDIT: I’ve answered this a couple times in the comments so I’m adding it in up here as well— I inherited this mess when I moved, so I can’t confirm exactly what’s going on here. Based on context clues I think used cooking grease was being poured out of the kitchen window and onto the exterior wall/ground below it on a fairly regular basis
