I changed my mind about the tentacles and can't continue, do you wait a few days and rethink or do you just scrap it and start over

When you can't decide what direction a piece is going, do you scrap it? I had tentickles in mind during sketching

Finished in one month

Took one month to finish, this is my first try, was harder than I expected but I liked the process.
