NRI parents — what apps/resources do you use to keep your kids connected to Indian values? 🇮🇳

For those of us raising kids outside India, I'm curious how you keep them connected to our culture beyond just festivals, food and visiting family.

I'm particularly looking for something that helps kids:

🕉️ Learn slokas and their meanings in Indian languages

📖 Learn stories from the Ramayana, Mahabharata, Bhagavad Gita and Puranas

🧒 Make learning Indian values fun rather than feeling like a lesson

🙏 Understand the why behind our traditions, instead of simply memorizing them

🦚 Have something they can explore on their own as they grow

Also, for adults — is there anything you use to understand how our scriptures apply to everyday situations? Something where you can ask questions about life and get perspectives based on the Bhagavad Gita/Krishna's teachings?

I've tried a few resources, but haven't found one place that does all of this well.

What are you using? What has actually worked with your kids?

Would love recommendations from other NRI families. 🙏

I built an app for my mom because I couldn't find anything simple enough for her ❤️

She does not use Netflix or Prime Video, My mom likes devotional content, slokas, Krishna stories, and listening to prayers.

But whenever she wanted to listen to stories, learn a sloka, there was a problem.

She could find stories not in her language or the Sanskrit text online, but understanding it was difficult. YouTube had videos, but finding the right explanation wasn't always easy. And whenever she wanted to know the meaning of a particular word, she would ask me.

So I started building something specifically for her.

It's called Slokas.

The idea is simple:

search for a sloka

Get the meaning in your preferred language

Understand it word by WORD IN HER LANGUAGE

Listen to the pronunciation/audio

Learn through stories with audio IN HER LANGUAGE.

Explore Bhagavad Gita and other scriptures

Take simple quizzes to remember what you learned

The most important design decision was: I wanted my mom to be able to use it without needing me to explain how it works.

That turned into a much bigger idea for me.

Maybe this isn't just an app for LEARNING Stories and slokas.

Maybe it's a way for children to give their parents something meaningful - a daily spiritual companion they can actually use.

I'm still building and improving it, and I'm curious if this is useful.

I'd especially love feedback to understand if this is something that most Indian moms like to use.
