I am so confused with last patch

Honestly, I’m not really sure what we’re trying to achieve with the game anymore.

I played A LOT of games yesterday, and I genuinely didn’t have fun in any of them.

The devs reduced the amount of objective items, and now the spawns feel incredibly inconsistent. Sometimes you get enough stuff, but way more often you end up in a situation where you just cannot find a single important item anywhere. Meanwhile, you’re just watching the population of Haddonfield slowly disappear.

And what can you actually do about it? Vacuum every corner of every building, then move on to checking every single crate. Or, as a last resort, spam the NPC with “follow me” a million times until they finally give you something useful.

By the time the exits are finally open, there’s usually barely anyone left to save. And it’s not like one exit can even accommodate a meaningful number of people anyway.

Let’s say you manage to save the last two poor souls, escape yourself, and everyone else is still trapped in the game. In what universe is that fun?

And I’d totally understand if this happened occasionally. Bad RNG happens. But this was basically the majority of my matches yesterday.

Then you get a key, only to discover that all the safehouses and gates require bolt cutters.

Or fuses spawn in games where there are no gates(???)

I will say, though, fuses do seem a little easier to find.

And what about weapons?

Melee weapons are basically worth their weight in gold now. You’d think that while you’re still looking for objective items, you’d want to carry a weapon so you can actually protect yourself. But nope, you’re heavily restricted there too.

At that point you just pray to the RNG gods that they’ll throw you a goddamn fireplace poker.

Yes, Michael is less lethal in the early stages now, but once he actually decides it’s time to take you out, he is still a threat — as he should be.

But if there are no unopened or unblocked exits left, that’s basically it. Sure, you can loop and waste his time for quite a while, but if he commits to killing you, he probably isn’t letting you leave. There’s nowhere to go anyway. And eventually he’ll just chip away at you with occasional hits.

The whole game now feels like you’re trapped, and there’s very little you can actually do to influence the outcome because so much of it comes down to RNG.

It honestly feels like the devs are allergic to interactivity and are slowly making the game more and more one-dimensional.

Because what can a civilian actually do right now?

Loot.

Loot until your eyes bleed.

There are no interesting encounters with Myers because you probably don’t have a weapon. Stamina got nerfed, so shoving doesn’t have much impact either. Even when you DO find a melee weapon, you barely get to do anything interesting with it.

And looting itself doesn’t even feel rewarding anymore, because most of the time you’re not finding anything important.

And when you finally DO find an objective item, it doesn’t feel exciting. It feels annoying.

Why the hell did I find this NOW, when the game is already basically lost?

I’m not saying there aren’t games where you get somewhat lucky with the spawns and manage to turn things into a win or at least a near-draw. Those games absolutely happen.

They just feel incredibly rare now.

Yesterday I finally got the last Laurie skin. A month after release. I had been grinding my ass off for it this entire time.

And now that I finally have it, I’m honestly not even sure I want to use it, because the actual gameplay experience has become so frustrating.

I’ve also seen a lot of people saying that the game is more balanced now and that these are good changes.

And hey, maybe it is more balanced now.

But I don’t really care how balanced a game is if I don’t have much interest in actually playing it anymore.

And that genuinely hurts to admit, because I LOVE the Halloween franchise. I absolutely adore Laurie, and I was so excited to finally play as her and unlock her grandma skin.

But realistically, I probably won’t be touching the game again until the next patch.

And if the objective item spawns don’t get addressed, I honestly don’t see much reason to come back at all.

Just my two cents.
