Is anything worth it for the gold price?

I’m genuinely confused what the different choices are when you level up.

Experience, not sure which type

Some other words I don’t know

The only thing I’m sure of is Armour which gives some nice shiny purples and blues.

What are all the options? What is the optimal choice?
