5 month update: we created a self-check version too

Some months ago, I posted the first Amble trunk here and asked the Pelican community what you thought about shipping gear ahead instead of traveling with it.

Since then, we built a small fleet of serialized, trackable trunks and started moving them through real transportation networks.

We also developed two ways to move them:

Self-check: pack it yourself, bring it to the airport, and check it with the airline as oversized luggage.

Personal Freight: send the trunk ahead and travel without it.

Same trunk. Two ways to move it.

The larger idea has become clearer: your belongings don't necessarily need to travel the same way you do.

For a short trip, check it yourself. For a longer stay, relocation, or recurring movement between places, send it ahead.

We've been calling it Personal Freight.

The goal is simple: getting on an airplane should eventually feel as easy as getting on a bus.

Still early. Still learning. The original post here was one of the first places I put this idea in front of strangers, so I figured I owed this community an update.

Carry less. Bring more.
