A family member is looking at purchasing a 2020 Impreza Limited with 50k miles on it. The car is not a CPO vehicle and as such the existing factory warranty is about to run out.

Her budget is 20K after registration, etc and this car is within her price range but I'm wondering if there is an extended warranty option that we should look at.

This will be our first Subaru purchase (we currently have Hondas). The CarFax on this car has minimal service history records and is being sold at a used dealer which has Subaru dealers in their network. I wonder if I should ask them to transfer it to a Subaru dealer for their service department to inspect it prior to purchase but I wonder how objective they would be.

Any thoughts?
