Thanks you Nicks!
I mean... its not a Tanker (which is what I really wanted Shackleton #8 for) but... Its better than NO Shack 8!
So I'm ending the hoping and wishing and getting right to the having and wearing!

NB(elt)D! Predator Burgundy Heritage Belt.
Well sorta...
Delivered Saturday, I got them Sunday when the wife and I got back from the yurt. Finally getting a chance to post this.
So now I can be civilized during the Dome with a Belt that matches my boots. Sorta matches my Craft & Lore reverse Burgundy shell NATO watch strap also. So full set!
Thank you u/smowe, Luke and team for making this work out! Really appreciate it!
With current DomePro sales on now, I know the Patina Thundedome is on many minds. Here is my Open Dome entry: Nicks MTO in Colorado Black from the May Sample Sale.
I haven't been able to get to these since they came in... traveling for business and just being busy kept them in the closet. Got them out today, swapped the leather laces for paracord and gave them an indoor wear.
The leather is crazy supple. This leather would work on a sneaker, or a slipper for goodness sake. Underfoot it still feels like a pair of Nicks (I do have Delta Arch supports in), but on the foot, it doesn't fight back at all. Very different from my other Nicks on a work leather or beefy heritage leather until they take on the shape of the foot. I could have worn them to bed! But, off they came after about an hour of inside wear. Back to being ignored in the closet.
Now, the 1925 last: I know a bunch of us were worried about toes being pinched when we're used to work boot toe boxes. My toes are not pinched at all. The 1925 feels great! But... the Colorado leather don't pinch. I wiggle my toes and the Colorado leather just gets out of the way! I could have probably gone down a few sizes and the Colorado leather would just move out of the way.
Oh, and how about the Cuban heels. Love how they walk, love how they look.
Bottom line: Great boots! I can't wait to get to know them better for six months after October begins.

No warehouse walking for the Yellowstone #8 Wood Butchers today, just office patina.
Am loving my Spokane leather boots but determined to order a pair of work pull ons in a burgundy leather in the coming months. Nicks had the sample sale of burgundy Chromepak... Any plans to do a burgundy Spokane with Horween? Can Horween do a #8 in Spokane?
At our County Fair
I am looking forward to it!
Its good to walk in you again.
Back to back weeks of travel and business dress has kept me out of these babies for a while. Good to have them back on for a '90s degree day on the Front Range
Heading to Dallas. Because the weather is so great in North Texas in July!
Once again, walked right through TSA Pre without getting stopped. Nice and comfy boots for the flight.

Oh so glad I brought my Bromleys along on this trip to the UK for when I could ditch the suit & tie after a long day on my feet at the trade show. These are turning out to be my perfect recovery boots. Easy on, easy off and always comfortable.
No need to worry about dings and bumps with the Pacific Waxed Flesh... the leather just shrugs abuse off like its nothing. The Cypress Light Grey does seem to scratch and scuff up easily, but a quick bushing makes them fade into this wierd, almost 3D patina that is bizarre and beautiful at the same time. The wedge sole makes ever step feel soft, but still firm and confident in the footing.
I'm telling you, Ben and smowe really came up with an awesome boot. Or is it a sneaker? (Who cares!) Hopefully we see it come back up for purchase again so you all can get a chance at owning them.

Work trip to England this week for the Farmborough International Airshow. Brought the Bromleys along as my daily recovery shoes after walking the trade show in dress shoes all day and boy, am I glad I did. They got through TSA Pre without needing to be kicked off, but if I did need to get them off, the 4" height would be super easy to step back into. And either because of the LLT design, or just the way they broke in, I could walk a mile in them before *needing* to lace them up.
Today was our "social" meetings day, so was able to wear them to the show and call them business casual. Oh so much nicer walking the flight line in these than business footwear.
Just a fantastic pair of boots! Or are they sneakers? (Who cares!)
Definitely hope smowe gives everyone another shot at owning their own.
I"m beginning to think I might have more wear in these than maintenance. Shot up at the yurt.
First off... yes those are the socks I put on this morning. Same as when I FBF'ed with the Spokane Steel Rangers.
Second: The word "supple" was introduced to the English language in anticipation of Horween's Colorado leather (Skip must have gone to Boulder on vacation). The kilties tell the story... Supple... pliable... if it wasn't for the outsole, I'd say they felt like sneakers.
And check out that texture! Like a pair of vintage Florsheims!
Very lightweight boots! I'm still breaking in my Spokane Steel Rangers and so these were kinda like putting on slippers (a set of insoles and they'd be just like slippers). What a remarkable leather.
Well, I hope no one will be disappointed in me when you see them next... all those little texture mounds will be popping from a layer or two of Saphir Mirror Shine.
Need to run to my 1:30 meeting, but UPS said these had been delivered. Thought I'd share 😉
But I started by putting some time in on my Rangers. Both have languished lately as I always seem to be in my Upperduckers in the summer heat.
I know I'm not doing this right. I had to be in the office today... Dog is sick (he eats something every June that makes him ill)...
And then they came and I just had to put them on... dress socks and all. Found a length of paracord, slid them on and... WOW!
Is it the 55 last? The Spokane leather (others say its stiff, these aren't!)? The Ranger design itself?
I spent the next hour following the dog and cleaning up, doing a few things around the house to be helpful... If the dog wasn't sick I would have taken him up the mesa on a death march... dress socks and all.
Very comfortable right out if the box. Went with kikties. Just a whisper of a heel slip in my right boot that went away with a heel strike and re-tie. Wore loafers to the office, so the arch support from the 55 last was very welcome.
Not the laces I'll actually use. Will get more pics when they come in. All pictures I've ever seen of Spokane Steel make them look brown-ish... In person they are as grey as Lt. Grey Cypress.
What great boots! Looking forward to giving Spokane a try.
