Has anyone ever tried the yogurt hack for baking but with plant based yogurt/GF mix?

I made cornbread today (Krusteaz) and used Bobs red mill egg replacer, soy milk, and avocado oil via the instructions. It tastes fine but it's pretty crumbly and lacks richness. I was thinking about when I used to bake non vegan and I'd use the sour cream trick to make my cornbread richer/denser. Has anyone ever tried that, say with Cocojune or another high fat coconut yogurt? I might try next time and post results..

GF + Vegan eggplant parm

This came out really good! I used violife shredded parm and GF panko breadcrumbs + a cornstarch slurry to bread them. Also added hemp seeds and ground pumpkin seeds to the breading for protein!

Does it sound worth investigating repairing, or am I being pushed to replace?

I have a Trane Heritage 10 heat pump condenser, R-22 refrigerant, paired with an original GE air handler. The handler is around 50 years old, compressor around 25. Heating works fine, but when in cooling mode the system blows hot air.

I've had techs come and one said I should try replacing my wiring to see if it resolves the issue; a few others were pushing me to replace the whole system. They said it's not worth trying to fix it due to its age, but I see people posting on here about having compressors older than mine so I kind of want opinions.

It's worth noting the wiring is in bad shape visibly, and there's a very rusted box on my compressor that i think is housing connections/wire splices or is a disconnect box (pretty sure there's an old hornets nest inside). Photos attached.
