Realistically, what’s housing looking like at this point?

As the title suggests, I’m curious to know what housing prospects are looking like at this point.

I’m an incoming coursework graduate for August 2026, and before I commit off campus, I naturally want to know what potential is, especially since it would be of significant financial help if I move on campus.

Having been put on the list till September 2026, I’m curious to know how realistic the chances are of securing housing by the end of this period, or even before for that matter.

Thank you.

Any similar gastrointestinal stories?

I've been having miserable functional gastrointestinal issues (read: vomiting or mostly dry heaving multiple times a day or persistent nausea for multiple weeks) and my gastroenterologist's prescription included venlafaxine 75 mg to try for two weeks. He said if it works, then we'll need to continue it for a bit longer and if it doesn't, then we'll see where to go from there.

Unfortunately, amitriptyline wasn't available for me to get so we had to choose effexor.

Anyhow, my question is, did anyone take effexor for primarily gastrointestinal issues? I'm on day 3 of 75 mg and I'm nervous to continue because I didn't know the withdrawal even after a relatively brief duration could be that intense.

My doctor seems confident it will help but after doomscrolling on day 3, I can't help but panic a little bit about it and question whether I should stop taking now rather than later. I'm also not enjoying the insomnia that's come with it but I'm willing to wait and try my luck if it's worth it.

Open to hearing any and all stories about. I'd also like to know how long you took the medicine for?

(Edit: my therapist did ask me to see a psychiatrist for my depression but that was not primarily why I got the prescription. Wasn't planning to go until much later but it seems that and stress have had my gut in a chokehold so here I am.)
