Sometimes the hardest part isn't making a decision. It's knowing which voice to listen to.

Have you ever had a decision where part of you knew what you should do, but another part of you just couldn't get on board?

Maybe logic says to take the opportunity, but fear tells you to stay where you are.

Maybe everyone around you thinks one choice makes sense, but something doesn't feel right.

Or maybe you've thought about something so much that you've somehow become less certain than when you started.

I've been thinking about how we make decisions, and I wonder if we spend too much time comparing our options and not enough time understanding what's influencing us.

Before making a difficult decision, try asking yourself three questions:

  • What do I actually want? Not what other people expect me to want.
  • What am I afraid of? And is that fear based on evidence or assumption?
  • What would make me change my mind? What information would genuinely affect my choice?

You don't always need more time to think. Sometimes you need a better way to think.

What's a decision you've struggled with recently, and what made it so difficult?
