I saw all the letters for a good word, and I was sure I could make it. But it turns out to have been fantastically overambitious and doomed to failure from the start.

In the back to school themed puzzle, >!atrium!< is a scoring word. And a count noun, so you would think its main plural, if available on the grid, would also score. But both >!atria !<and >!atriums !<are only bonus words. Seems wrong.

It would be appropriate, no?

I am making my shame public. I think I'm a details thinker not a big picture thinker.

There's a word in today's puzzle that wasn't even a bonus, but I think must have been put there deliberately. It contains obvious scoring words so I'm not mentioning it here. I will make a comment.
