If this is you, you suck

So for context: this buyer is in the US, I'm in europe.

He purchased a couple figs from me. Shipping was about the same amount as the order value after tarifs and sales tax.

It started with me having to issue an npb against the guy because he didn't pay after 7 days as per my terms (I got tired of chasing us buyers for payment, sorry).

He pays and I ship the order. 2 weeks ago he messages me saying he still hasn't received anything. I look at the tracking info and the parcels seems to be in limbo. I message him back telling him to give it another 2 weeks as it may be held up somewhere and if there's still nothing, get back to me.

3-4 days ago I receive the parcel back with a mention that it could not be delivered, it was attempted and not found or something. I used the exact shipping info from the order.

I message the guy telling him I received it back and will issue a full refund and not redeliver as I'm not going to spend 20$ out of my pocket for a hobby for shipping a couple figures.

Edit: I used the "full" refund button in the order which in my understanding rolls back to complete transaction including fees. I see -40.84 in Paypal which is the exact full amount of the order.

He left negative feedback:

"Bit upset, order never got delivered or reshipped. Was shorted a few $ refund"

I understand he may be annoyed, but I think I did everything right and I don't think this complaint is deserved.

I mean if your a buyer and you get a full refund for an order that didn't go as planned, I'd make it a neutral at worst. Complaining because the PayPal mafia took their fees from the refund isn't my problem nor something I have control over. And if you have a bit of logic and self awareness, you're not going to ask someone to reship 20$ of Lego overseas at their expense.

I have stopped shipping to the US right after this order as I only had problems with US based buyers.

Thoughts?

Bricklink's ridiculous 5000 API call daily limit

I'm sure I'm not the only one finding this extremely annoying.

I have my own selfhosted store manager because it makes it so much easier to do everything and I track my API calls to make sure I stay within the daily 5000 calls (which in Bricklink's terms is said to be a "flappy" one as in if you make 6000 one day but the rest of time you don't they won't ban you).

But I mean come on, Lego owns Bricklink and they can't set up an infrastructure in 2026 that is able to deal with something like 600 calls/min like Brickowl has? As soon as you start having a lot of lots, pulling daily price information becomes a headache as you have to leave room for all the other operations you do like uploading parts, managing orders etc.

Sigh.

Has anyone every reached out to Lego to tell them this needs to be updated to bring it in the 21st century? Or is there any word of this being in the pipelines?

Sold a sealed set: figs and part of the build were missing

Sold a 76125 iron man armory the other day. I bought that set at an online retailer waaay back in 2019.

Today I get a mail from the buyer and he says all the iron man figures are missing and part of the build. There's only the outriders.

He sent me pictures of the box and the seals looked fine. Same for the glue it looked like factory.

The guy lives in the same city and came to pick up his order. Doesn't look like the kind of guy to scam others. In the same order he purchased over 100$ worth of star wars figs too which were a lot more valuable than the set.

So I can only think of 2 things:

- someone tampered with the set and stole the bags with the iron man figs when it was on a shelf in a warehouse

- Lego made an assembly mistake at the factory

I asked the guy to give me back whatever he had in the set and I'm reimbursing him tomorrow, I'll just sell the parts in my store. I contacted Lego, we'll see what they propose.

Has this ever happened to anyone here to have bags missing from factory? I've maybe had one set missing a plate once and that was it.

EDIT:

I did some digging after Lego asked me to inventory the set so they could send over what's missing. I'm not holding my breath for the Iron Man figures...

I found a picture online of someone showing the numbered bags. I could determine the following:

- The number of bags in the set I sold checks out. There are 4 of them, numbered 1 to 4 with the 4th one just having the number 4 outlined in white, without the white stripe

- Missing stickers were in bag #1, which the buyer had opened

- Missing 1x red stud shooter and at least one of the dark red iron man figures are supposed to be in bag #2. That bag was completely sealed, I opened it to do the inventory this morning. It hadn't been tampered with

So the conclusion is that this isn't actually theft at the retailer, but most likely either a production error at the Lego factory OR someone on the production line at Lego stealing parts & figures. But then why take the figures and some random useless parts like a trans-light blue 1x1 round brick that are worthless?

*rant* Ricardo sellers: can you make an effort with your shipping costs?

I've been on ricardo for well over 10 years, both as a buyer and a seller. Generally as a buyer I don't hate the platform but I have stopped selling on there because of their ridiculous fees.

Anyway, not what the rant is about.

I sometimes buy used Lego on there. I'm fine with someone asking 21CHF for shipping over 10Kg of bulk as that's the actual cost. But for smaller stuff, people either don't know any better or they are just trying to pocket additional money.

Example: I was browsing and saw a couple lego figures that looked like a good deal, 7 of them, shipping: 9CHF. In what world?

First of all, b-post shipping with the swiss post is 7.50CHF up to 2Kg, not 9 CHF and there's no fucking way it costs Ricardo 1.50 CHF to generate a post label with their stupid logo on there.

Second of all, for such small pieces, could you actually make the effort and propose adequate bubbled mailer shipping? It would cost at most like 1.70CHF for a webstamp. I mean a pack of 5 B5 bubbled envelopes is like 3CHF at Migros ffs!

So please, try to be adequate with your shipping costs to make it a less painful experience for everyone.
