Hi, I'm a backend and data engineer based in Cairo, available for remote work. Since early 2024 I've been building and running the data systems behind a health-tech app, so I'm used to owning things from the first line of code all the way to keeping them alive in production.

What I can do for you:

• Build ETL and data pipelines in Python (Pandas, SQLAlchemy, PostgreSQL, AWS). Scheduled ingestion, cleaning, validation, dedupe, and reruns that don't break if you run them twice. I also work with dbt, Airflow, BigQuery, Kafka, Spark and Docker when a job calls for it.
• Write backend APIs with FastAPI or Flask: endpoints, auth, rate limiting, validation, logging, and actually deploying the thing.
• Build Power BI dashboards and reports (DAX, Row-Level Security, DirectQuery) along with the SQL and data modeling underneath.
• Automate the tedious stuff: scraping, email and spreadsheet ingestion, data cleaning, small scripts that save you hours a week.
• Wire up LLM features across OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini and Ollama.
• Arabic and English localization and QA, which I've done for international brands including Sanrio and Motul.

Some things I've actually shipped:

• An automated AWS pipeline that pulls 100,000+ records a day into PostgreSQL (over 40 million so far) and replaced a fully manual process.
• An onboarding system that provisions corporate clients end to end (companies, employees, teams, leaderboards) with validation and safe rollback, replacing manual SQL setup. It's handled 10+ clients so far.
• Integrated the Spike and Terra SDKs to unify biometric data from Xiaomi, Huawei and InBody devices into one PostgreSQL model.
• Designed a production health-scoring algorithm with the company's medical advisors that powers progress tracking and engagement.
• Power BI dashboards used by around 30 people across medical, ops and management that cut weekly reporting time by roughly 75%.
• A FastAPI scoring service with API key auth, request validation and rate limiting.

Rate is $15/hr, and I'm happy to quote a fixed price for the whole project if you'd rather work that way. I can do around 30 hours a week and my hours are flexible, so US, EU or Gulf time zones all work fine, evenings and nights included.
