I had microdiscectomy and laminotomy on June 5th. I felt immediate relief waking up and then as expected/as I’ve read on here had some small nerve pain here and there but nowhere near what it was. Last night I felt the nerve pain the whole night and had trouble sleeping. Is this normal? Anyone have words of reassurance? 😅 I also just got my stitches out yesterday.

So I’ve been on a prescription NSAID (nabumatone/Relifin) for years due to chronic arthritic pain. It’s been out of stock at my pharmacy for about a week so I haven’t had it and boy did I underestimate how much it was actually helping the sciatica. It’s been about 3.5 months since my third epidural and I have an appointment with my spine specialist for next week because pain has been about 5/10 and I’m considering surgery. Today it hit 8/10 easily and I had no idea how bad it could be without having this NSAID twice daily. I’m really down about all of it because I’m 29 and feel way too young for all of this to be happening.

Edit: forgot to mention, this all culminated in my going to urgent care for a Toradol shot hoping it’ll do something. I was at work for half a day and couldn’t get anything done the pain was searing
