[LF] - Columbus, OH high grade Fire red Neocaridina shrimp

I'm looking to start a breeding colony, so I will need a decent amount with a good male/female ratio.

New to the hobby

Just added some water and plants the other day and letting it cycle. I'm still waiting for the moss and some small rocks to arrive. How's it look so far?

New to shrimping, have questions need advice

As the title suggests, I’m new to shrimp keeping and currently only own the 20-gallon long tank and stand shown in the picture above. I’m trying to get an idea of everything I’ll need and how I want to approach setting this tank up.

My plan is to create a full colony/breeding setup for Neocaridina shrimp and potentially add 1–2 bamboo shrimp further down the line. My current “grocery list” is as follows:

- AQUANEAT Double Bio Sponge Filter, for Fry, Betta, Shrimp, Nano, Aquarium Fish Tank x2

- Pawfly 13 Feet Airline Tubing Standard Aquarium Air Pump Accessories with Air Stones, Check Valves, Suction Cups, and Connectors

- hygger 100W Submersible Aquarium Heater with Digital Temperature Controller, Mini Fish Tank Heater for 10–20 Gallon Tanks, Overheat & Out-of-Water Protection, Freshwater & Saltwater

- NICREW ClassicLED Plus LED Aquarium Light with Timer, 21 Watts, for 30–36 Inch Fish Tank, Daylight and Moonlight Cycle

I’m currently stuck deciding whether I want to go with a carpeted tank using aquasoil or keep things simple with sand and call it a day. Ideally, I’d like this tank to be as low-maintenance as possible (I understand it will never be 100% self-sustaining).

Does anyone have any suggestions? Am I missing any essential equipment?

I also want to mention that I have absolutely no idea how to hook up the airline tubing and airflow to the sponge filters, so I’d really appreciate either a step-by-step video recommendation or some kind of breakdown of the setup process.

I’m also interested in everyone’s thoughts on how to make this as epic of a tank as possible.

Thank you!
