The new Sumo Sushi & Grill is awesome!

You probably noticed that the old Shari’s building at 116th and 405 has been converted into Sumo Sushi & Grill. It finally opened today, and my kids and I were excited to try it for dinner!
We found the food to be very tasty and reasonably priced. I like the small charge for the open appetizer and dessert buffet—it’s so worth it. Great variety on the menu, and lots of options to mix and match. Most items cost $3.50-$7.
My kids’ favorites: the shrimp tempura ramen, the bubble crisp shrimp, the cheesy corn, and the strawberry shortcake at the dessert buffet.
My favorites: the mango roll with shrimp tempura and avocado, the sesame red bean balls at the dessert buffet, and the yuzu sake.
You can order at your leisure from the tablet on the table. At some point in the future they will be utilizing robots to help deliver food, which will be fun for kids.
Lots of little details have been considered, too: free beverages and candy in the lobby while you wait for a seat, toiletries in the restrooms, etc.
The remodel of the interior of the Shari’s is fabulous. I’m looking forward to returning solo and sitting at the sushi bar.
Recommended! It will likely be packed on weekends, so plan ahead.
