Things that quietly waste more time than social media

People talk a lot about social media wasting time, but some of the biggest distractions barely look like distractions at all. Waiting for the perfect moment to start, overthinking simple decisions, constantly planning instead of doing, carrying stress into every quiet moment, and postponing important things with “I’ll do it tomorrow” can slowly consume far more time than scrolling ever does.

Social media wastes attention quickly. These habits waste energy so slowly that most people don’t even notice it happening until months have passed.

Beginner in LeetCode + interested in Selenium automation, need guidance

Hi everyone, I’m new to this subreddit and also completely new to LeetCode.

I also work a 9-hour shift, so I’m trying to learn in a way that’s realistic and sustainable instead of burning out.

I wanted to ask:

How should a complete beginner use LeetCode effectively without getting overwhelmed?

How much time should someone working full-time realistically spend on it daily?

Is it better to focus on understanding patterns slowly or solving a high number of problems?

Any advice/resources you wish you knew when starting out?

Would really appreciate guidance from people who’ve already gone through the beginner phase.

Trying to journal consistently — any tips?

I started journaling recently and I genuinely like it, but I’m very inconsistent with it.

Some days I write a lot and feel productive, then I suddenly stop for a few days or even weeks.

I’m still trying to figure out what type of journaling suits me best — daily thoughts, productivity, gratitude, random ideas, or something else.

How did you build a consistent journaling habit?

Do you follow a structure or just write whatever’s on your mind?

Any advice for beginners would really help 👍

Trying to get into reading — where should I start?

I wanna get into reading books seriously but I’m kinda new to it 😅

I enjoy stuff like self-help, motivational, biographies, interesting facts, fiction, and non-fiction too. But honestly I still haven’t figured out what genre I actually like the most.

How did you guys discover your favorite genre/books?

And how do you usually pick what to read next?

Beginner-friendly recommendations are welcome 🙌
