Ivdd Surgery stage 4 Bladder management

Our Louie underwent 3 weeks ago an emergency surgery for ivdd stage 4 and an epidural hamathoma that was compressive.

He has a catheter and the bladder is managed with the catheter. I clashed two times with the doctors because of this catheter 1 :he had a Uti because of it and he is still on antibiotics, second yesterday we visited the ER room three times costed us 400 € just to have a stupid catheter replaced…
Is bladder management at home possible ? Because all the doctors tell me here it’s very difficult and they don’t encourage it because of risk of urine stagnation…. But to me the uti infection, sediment in the bladder, lack of hydrotherapy( everyone refuses us) and the fact that we can end up spending the whole day at the hospital it is also not a very good option.

Must say : when the catheter first got stuck Louie tried to pee. We were outside and he sniffed and tried to pee . Anyone with similar experience?

Toller IVDD stage 4 need advice

Hello everyone.
My toller Louie had an emergency surgery for an Ivdd stage 4 and and epidural compressive hematoma thoracolombar located.

It’s day 5 after surgery and he doesn’t stand(assisted), he is kinda stubborn with physiotherapy and no DPS.

Is there hope that he might walk again and go potty?
How long did it take your dog to recover ?

I went from peroperative prognostics 80% chance of recovery to 50/50% and possible paralysis.

I am not expecting for him to be better from
Day one, but I would like to know a Hope timeline. I am prepared mentally and physically for the upcoming months of intensive care(I don’t care he has been with me through my darkest times and he is my home).

Please if anyone can help me with infos.
