It can be difficult to find information about local candidates, so created a Floyd County Voter Guide. We asked all 72 local candidates to respond to four questions and these are the answers we received. We hope it’s helpful when you vote November 3rd, or during early voting which starts October 6th.
This is such a great resource for people in the community!
What local issues do you care about? What do you want to ask local candidates? I'm leading an effort to create a local, resident-run, voter guide for Floyd County and we need the community's help! Please share your thoughts via this survey so we can ask the candidates about real issues that impact our local area. Thanks for your help!
SoINformed's July newsletter is live! We're proud to highlight two great community resources this month. The cooling station at Culbertson Baptist Church and Love Unlimited's weekly free meal service. Read more about it and all the city and county meeting highlights! It's free to subscribe on Substack, so you get the newsletter every month delivered right to your email!
It's a pain in the ass to find out information about our local elections, so we are going to change that. Next Wednesday (29th) we are holding our first meeting to create a 2026 Floyd County Voter Guide. We need community support to help us research what positions are up for election, what they actually do, who is running, and what they stand for. There will be a ton of ways to get involved, so if you want to be a part of educating New Albany and Floyd County residents on their election choices please join us at the kickoff meeting!
Check out Love Unlimited and consider volunteering at their Saturday meal, or donating to their upcoming fundraiser! They are doing great work for our neighbors in need.
Shelby County residents, go talk to your school district officials. This is disgusting.
I recently tried to commute from New Albany to downtown Louisville using my bike and the 71 bus and couldn't because there wasn't room on the bike rack. Has anyone else experienced this problem while using TARC?
