Product Suggestion: Component Packs
An idea I had, similar to how we have collections, I had the idea for packs of components where you can click a button and the entire 'pack', every component in the component pack, gets added to your story and used. Like when you download a mod for a game and the mod is behind a bunch of folders... you add the main folder, and all the little folders get added. Same concept. Makes it easier if you make stories where you have components that would all go towards that one story/genre, and one click of a button would let you just shove all of those components in or out of your story.
It could show up as the [XYZ component pack] or something when added, so that it can be removed, and yes, to add the entire component pack means you use the entire component pack... if you cherry pick which components you want, you'd just do it the old fashioned way. Am I making sense?
What do you guys think? This is my idea as a user, not as a mod or anything, so keep that in mind. I'm always trying to think of ways to simplify stuff, lol.

Spelling and Grammatical Errors: Update Thread
Hello, everyone. Hawk here. As many of you are painfully aware, there's currently an issue happening where the AI is behaving in a way it should not, causing spelling and grammatical errors across the board on all writing models (Ember, Ink, and Standard).
As much as I wish I could give you all a real update with an ETA on a fix, or a concrete reason as to what's happened, we do not have more information for you at this time. The dev team is aware of the situation and as far as we are aware, they are working on a fix for it, but it may be taking longer than anticipated.
That said, I know that transparency is extremely important, especially when you are paying for a service. Your frustration is heard and valid, and we've sent that frustration up to the next level of mods, too. I promise you, we're keeping track of the situation and it's been reported multiple times.
Keep an eye on this thread for updates, I'll be staying up late trying to see if I can get more information for you beautiful users so that you have a little more to go on here.
Again:
- We absolutely understand your frustration, and your feelings on this are valid. We're struggling with our stories and are frustrated too. We get it.
- We do not have an exact reason as to WHY this is happening yet. Some of us have theories, but as they're not fact, I won't bore anyone with those or start up a debate.
- Once we KNOW what's happened, someone will update this post.
- Once we have an ETA on a fix, again, someone will update this post.
I'm really sorry this happened, again, some of us mods who were on to make stuff this weekend also are getting hit with this, it's nothing anyone's doing, and the dev team is aware. It's being investigated and we're hoping for more information on a fix later.
If you happen to decide to write something and find that the spelling issues vanish, feel free to let us know! Fixes often go live without us being made fully aware of it.
UPDATE: 8/30/26 11:00 AM EST - No news yet, but we are still watching for any updates on the situation. Stay tuned.
UPDATE: 8/30/26 11:42 AM EST - A user has made a component that seems to help with spelling issues! Check out u/TheDentedPen 's component here, bookmark it and add it to your stories, it may help as a temporary bandaid fix until a full fix is rolled out! (This one is for US spellings)

These spellcheckers ARE working for everyone who's used them as far as I am aware, and should make errors go away completely OR minor and easily edited out. I really hope they help!
UPDATE: 8/30/26 10:31PM EST - We haven't heard anything yet, but we do have mixed reports of improvements to the spelling and grammar with or without the spellcheck components, so that's hopefully a good sign. I'll come back in the morning if we get more information then!
UPDATE: 8/31/26 11:12AM EST - As many of us mods suspected, but didn't want to speculate without confirmation, the spelling issues are a problem with the model that RQ uses. There was some kind of update done over the last couple of weeks, and it's been worked on since it started... We're not sure why it hit a fever pitch over the weekend, but they ARE working on a fix. Unfortunately, there's no ETA, but we now have a why that we can give you. The components above seem to help some users (I've had minimal issues since using the one for the US spellings personally, using Ember), while others are having less luck. I can also suggest an explicit instruction in your prompts for now for the AI to run a strict spellcheck on everything it writes. It MAY help.
Again, this is due to a model update for the AI LLM being used, not an update that RQ itself implemented, which is one of the reasons a fix is taking so much longer. If it was an issue from RQ's code, from my understanding, the unusable code could just be rolled back and it'd fix it. That won't work because the issue is with the model, so it takes some fine-tooth work to get a fix rolled out, which can take a lot longer. When and if we find out why it hit such a fever pitch over the weekend, I will let you know. I really appreciate everyone's patience this weekend and I hope we can all see some improvement over the next day or so.

Continuing from the last part, I had surgery about... eh... 23 hours ago, Gallbladder removal, 0/10 do not recommend, and because my ADHD says no rest for the wicked, I spent the morning making components.
