First week at RVT

Hi friends. It's my first week at RVT, and have been trying to speak at 140 WPM but I am struggling uncontrollably. I continuously fall behind, mispronounce words, etc. does anyone have any tips? I have been seeing others on TikTok starting off and they're breezing through as a voice steno noobie. I am constantly comparing myself, and keep getting frustrated.

Would my chances be slim when applying?

Hello! I was interested in apply to become a LEO but have a slight dilemma. I was a dispatcher for 4 1/2 months, and ended up resigning due to the training environment not being fit for me. (Had issues with my trainer, and spoke up about it. Resulted in me resigning due to not being heard and retaliated against.) If I end up applying as a LEO now, will me resigning before passing training as a dispatcher affect my chances? Am I completely out of luck? Thank you all.

Miss dispatching

Hi all! This is just a rant. I recently resigned from my previous agency due my trainer being hostile/passive agressive towards me during training. (I spoke up about it, and had 2 meetings. Nothing resolved, just excuses for her behavior). I was in training for almost 5 months. I've been unemployed now for a week and miss the job so much. I hope I get hired at another agency soon... although I know I'll probably take a while. I miss the adrenaline it gave me, feeling lost right now. Thanks for listening to me rant.

Update to my previous post

I ended up having a meeting with my supervisors, and the entire time they kept defending the trainer who I was expressing my concerns about. They mentioned that she wasn't aware that she was treating me a certain way, and now that I've expressed my concerns she knows. I think it's total BS due to the fact that I'm not the only one who spoke about her demeanor/attitude. After the meeting was over, I ended up telling my supervisor that I'm resigning. It was a very devastating thing to do, but I don't see myself at a department where they're unable to accept wrong doings and simply point the finger at me. I want to apply to another department but I feel my last interaction with the supervisor will result in me being unable to move forward with other departments now. If anyone can help guide me, I'd appreciate it. Thanks for reading.

Spoke up against trainer

Hi friends, I recently spoke up about the training situation and how my trainer was making me psychologically unwell yesterday. (I'm the first to speak up, despite all other trainers/trainees saying the same thing about this trainer) I come in today, and my trainer is immediately in a bad mood. I try to ignore it, and while we're on phones she is being passive aggressive towards me and said "since you mentioned X yesterday, I guess I have to hold you hand and walk you through everything." I ignored it, and then when we answered another call she raises her voice and says "what are you doing," and I told her exactly what you told me. And then she yells where are your notes. I immediately told her I don't feel comfortable working with her because of her passive aggressiveness and she smirks and says ok. I then log off and pack my items and speak to the manager about it. She then brings me into the room and when I'm expressing my concerns she is constantly defending and deflecting what l've expressed.
She then says she can try to change my schedule but she can't promise that I won't go back to the same trainer because they're low. I mentioned that I don't mind hashing it out, but I don't want it to linger. Automatically my manager says I'm being negative by thinking it'll happen again. She also mentions that my trainer isn't
"retaliating" and that I'm using the word so loosely. I'm conflicted on resigning, I don't know what to do. I enjoyed the job, but am extremely worried that I'll regret staying long term because I spoke up. Will be going to have a sit down with supervisor, manager, and trainer in 3 hours. Feeling nervous and worried I'll end up breaking down again.

(this is a repost, not sure what I clicked but it deleted the prior post)

Dispatch to officer

Hi friends. I've been dispatching for almost 5 months now, and realized that it is not for me anymore. I haven't passed training yet, but have come to the realization I don't want to do this anymore. Is it possible for me to switch to becoming an officer, despite not having passed training yet? Or would it reduce my chances due to not passing yet. Thanks

Turning in badge.

I've been in training for roughly 5 months now and ended up getting a trainer that makes me feel incompetent. She is always making remarks like "what don't get, why aren't you getting it, what do you mean, I already told you once." She also gets extremely irritated with me on phones, and I'll hear her in the back making remarks like "oh my god, he already told you. Use your brain. Are you going to ask questions?!? ASK!!!!." Additionally she'll huff and puff and tap the table and it makes me extremely anxious and on edge. I loved the job, but I am done after this trainer. Maybe I'll be able to apply to a different agency next time around. Ive tried complaining to my supervisors, but apparently everyone is scared of losing her so they allow her to act that way. Thanks for listening to my rant.

Hi, I've been in training for around 4 months now and I'm still struggling with developing my radio ear. I was doing ok during day shift, but I am now night shift with a new trainer and am struggling. I cannot understand the officers for the life of me. I feel like I'm doing horrible; and will never get it. I am extremely frustrated with myself. I struggle especially when traffic gets quick. Ex - traffic collisions, officers will put themselves on the call and sometimes will take over call for other officers and I will lose track and just go blank. I feel like this will never get better for me. I am second guessing myself and contemplating if I even deserve to be here because comparing myself to the other dispatchers I'm at a 1 and they're at a 10 (amazing).
*just ranting*
