Say goodbye to subscription cleaner apps — I made an iOS storage cleaner with a low-cost Lifetime unlock

Hi r/apps,

I’m the indie developer of Phone Storage Cleaner: Recycle, an iOS app for cleaning up photo, video, screenshot, and contact clutter on iPhone.

The idea behind Recycle is simple: many iPhone cleaner apps are built around recurring subscriptions, often costing much more over time. Even though Recycle’s Lifetime unlock is a paid option, it is still a much cheaper one-time alternative compared to paying every month for a cleaner app. Right now, it has a limited-time Lifetime unlock for about $2.

What the app helps with:

Finding duplicate and similar photos

Detecting similar videos

Reviewing screenshots quickly

Finding duplicate contacts

Finding incomplete contacts

Reviewing everything before deleting

Running photo, video, and contact cleanup detection on device

The flow is intentionally simple: scan, review, and delete only what you choose.

Privacy was a big focus for me. Photo, video, and contact cleanup detection is done on device. After unlocking Lifetime, the app works 100% offline for cleanup — no cloud processing, no account, no data collection. The App Store shows Apple Privacy Label: Data Not Collected.

I’d be interested to hear how people here think about iPhone cleaner apps in general:

Do you trust storage cleaner apps more when analysis happens on device and the App Store privacy label shows no data collection, or do you still prefer managing everything manually through Photos and Contacts?

I wanted a cheaper way to clean up iPhone storage without another subscription

**A – Answer**

I kept running into the same problem: my iPhone storage was full, but most cleaner apps I found were built around expensive weekly or monthly subscriptions, often around **$8–$10/month** for a basic cleanup utility.

Recycle is my answer to that — a small iPhone cleaner app focused on helping you clean up photos, videos, and contacts without turning it into another recurring payment.

It can help find and clean:

Duplicate photos

Similar photos

Large videos

Duplicate contacts

Incomplete contacts

The screenshots show the main cleanup flow, including smart grouping, filtering by date or similarity, swipe-to-compare similar photos, and bulk delete after review.

The goal is simple: pick what you want to remove, review it, and clean it up quickly.

**B – Better**

A lot of iPhone cleaner apps feel overpriced for something most people only need occasionally. I wanted Recycle to be more straightforward.

No subscription.

No account.

No cloud upload.

Works offline.

Apple App Privacy: **Data Not Collected**.

Everything is designed to stay on the device. For me, that was important because photos, videos, and contacts are personal data, not something that should need a cloud service just to clean up.

**C – Cost**

Recycle is a one-time **$1.99 lifetime** purchase.

No weekly plan.

No monthly plan.

No recurring payment.

App Store: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/phone-storage-cleaner-recycle/id6763344525

I’d especially appreciate thoughts on whether the cleanup flow feels simple enough and whether the pricing makes sense compared to subscription-based cleaner apps. And if you try it and genuinely find it useful, a **5-star rating** would mean a lot and really help the launch.

I built an iPhone storage cleaner with on-device analysis and a limited-time $1.99 Lifetime unlock

I’m the indie developer of Phone Storage Cleaner: Recycle, an iPhone storage cleaner focused on helping users clean up photo, video, and contact clutter without another expensive monthly subscription.

I built it because many popular cleaner apps push recurring subscriptions. I wanted to make a simpler and more affordable alternative with a limited-time Lifetime unlock for about $2.

Main features:

- Find duplicate and similar photos

- Detect similar videos

- Review screenshots quickly

- Find duplicate contacts

- Find incomplete contacts

- Review everything before deleting

- On-device analysis for photos, videos, and contacts

The app is built around a simple idea: scan, review, and delete only what you choose.

Privacy was a big focus for me. Photo, video, and contact cleanup detection is done on device. After unlocking Lifetime, the app works 100% offline for cleanup — no cloud processing, no account, no data collection. The App Store shows Apple Privacy Label: Data Not Collected.

I’d really appreciate feedback on the cleanup flow, pricing, and whether the app feels trustworthy enough for something that handles photos, videos, and contacts.
