Mazda CX-30 vs Civic hybrid hatchback

Fuel economy for the cx-30 is commonly discussed here but I don’t think the particular discussion has occurred.

For context, my 2011 Honda accord is on its last leg and I am looking to buy a new car. I primarily have short commutes in-town but also do out-of-state trips (300mi each way) every other month. After a lot of online research and test drives, I have narrowed it down to the 2026 Mazda cx-30 non-turbo (preferably carbon edition, love that red leather) or the 2026 Honda civic hybrid hatchback touring. I love the Mazda for all the reasons everyone here does - wonderful styling inside and out, comfortable but sporty ride, engaging steering, etc. I was also pleasantly surprised by the civic, especially how well it accelerated with the hybrid drivetrain. Overall, the Mazda was more enjoyable to drive and simply be inside of, but the civic was not miles behind in that regard. The biggest thing holding me up from being 100% in on the cx-30 is fuel economy.

Now for the actual question: for the folks on here with a cx-30 (presumably most of you given the name of the subreddit), how has the fuel economy/range affected your enjoyment/satisfaction with the car? Do you ever wish you had purchased a hybrid?
