My mom and my my kids.
My 94-year-old mom’s health has been declining for the past 3 years. She went to the ER a month ago with severe COVID and they found she has pancreatic cancer. She’s been in hospice for a week, and she’s already transitioning.
I’m in a bad headspace right now, but a big part of the weight I’m carrying is the idea of my kids potentially having to take care of me someday, but also that they may need this kind of care themselves one day. I think I’m feeling as much guilt for bringing them into this world as I am grieving for my mother right now.
