payments reduced despite being casual worker - is this normal?
im a casual worker in after school care, until i find something more permanent and full time. in the last 2 weeks i've worked a total of 13 hours (i worked 3 days both weeks) and was paid around $470. my centrelink payment which is due tomorrow has been reduced by almost $200 and my working credit is at $0. my payment was also reduced in my last payment by $40 but i didnt think anything of it and thought the deductions would be a similar amount. but my payment getting reduced by almost $200 when im just a casual worker and work at maximum 3 hours if i have a shift is just ridiculous. i would understand the deductions if i was working full time or part time with more hours but i dont think it's fair when im barely making an income from this casual job
so i just wanted to know is this normal and something i just have to put up with the longer i work, or is this something i should call centrelink up about or mention to my job provider who im seeing on friday
