They won't even allow me to pay for extra usage
>All GitHub Copilot plans are now on usage-based billing · community · Discussion #197089
Why can’t we purchase as much additional usage as we need without upgrading to a more expensive plan?
>Additional usage spending limits are a temporary measure to mitigate abuse while we observe user behavior under the new billing model. We intend to pull these back in the coming weeks, at which point you will be able to purchase additional usage without upgrading your subscription.
This isn't communicated at all unless you find that specific GitHub issue, and GHC suggest you to upgrade your plan to remedy this - but it doesn't tell you how much of that "invisible additional usage limit" you'll get on an upgrade, and it doesn't mention the info from the GitHub issue at all.
Not even being able to pay for what I need and having productivity issues is infuriating, even more so when not communicated clearly. The only reason this doesn't breach the terms and conditions is because they allow themselves to do anything they want when unspecified usage limits are met.
My verdict: I'm not only going to move away privately, I'll give instructions to my direct reports at work to fully move away too (> $3000 spend each month).
