Hi, just wondering if anyone knows whether bags are checked all the way through on a Qantas points booking with Jetstar-operated flights.

I’m flying MEL → BNE → Osaka, all booked together through Qantas using points, but all flights are Jetstar. Will I need to collect my bags in Brisbane and re-check them / go through international bag drop and security again, or are they transferred automatically?

Hi all,

I’ve booked a last-minute 8-day trip (Melbourne → Osaka) and looking for some advice on how to structure it.

I land in Osaka around 20:45 and depart at 22:45 on the return.

I’m thinking:

• Osaka for a few days
• Kyoto for a few days
• Day trip to Nara

Does that sound like a good split?

Interests:

• History, castles, temples
• Food (very important)
• Vintage shopping
• Kitchenware / cook’s knives

Also unsure about the first night:

• Is it worth staying at/near the airport given the late arrival?
• Or better to head straight into Osaka and start there?
• Alternatively, go straight to Kyoto the next day and base myself there first?

Would really appreciate any suggestions on how to structure the trip or what you’d prioritise.
