i want to start learning chinese/mandarin (also whats the difference between chinese and mandarin? which one should i learn?). Ive tried duolingo but its too slow and i feel like its all jumbled so i think i should first start with writing and reading first, can someone recommend me good youtube channels or apps that are free or any other method for it? I got in uid, i would've gone if the fees weren't so high, then i had isdi shristi and strate in mind but again they were too expensive. I'm from a middle class family, the max i can afford with hostel is 20l, i feel like I'll be missing out on a lot of good college experience when i think of choosing a cheap one most of em don't even have good reviews . I wanted to apply to a few in delhi n haryana but my parents are not ready to send me anywhere near delhi idk what to do

im thinking of doing masters later as well so is it worth it spending this much money for bachelors?
