I need some advice on second-string trees
Hi everyone, I just joined this group and I hope you can give me some advice.
I have a Squier Classic Vibe Baritone Custom Telecaster. I really love the sound of the guitar, but unfortunately, when I tune the D string correctly, it makes a strange noise. I always have to tune it a little higher than the other strings, which I’m not really happy with either.
I’m using the strings that the manufacturer recommends as a perfect fit for this model: nickel wound .014 / .018 / .026w / .044 / .056 / .068, EXL157.
I also took the guitar to a guitar repair tech, and he said I would need a second string tree. He definitely knows guitars well and is a professional, but when it comes to baritone guitars, I got the impression that he doesn’t have that much experience. So I wanted to ask for your opinion.
I’d like to install the second string tree myself. Are the string trees shown on the foton any good? I’ve already read a little bit about how to install them, but I’d be very grateful for any tips, advice, or helpful links.
